Lekan is Afrebay’s Founder, and currently serves as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Afrebay Vision is to become a reliable go-to-platform for consumers and businesses looking to buy and sell product & services between Africa and the Americas (North & South). Prior to founding Afrebay, Lekan spent over 20 years as a Software Engineer, Data Analytics, and Relational Database Administrator at The Boeing Corporation. Before that, he worked as a consultant for Electronic Data System (EDS, now DELL) as a data architect and Oracle Relational Database Administrator where he consults for Fortune 500 companies across the U.S. In addition to his technical experience, he is an entrepreneur at heart. In 1997, he founded Beauty Planet, then later went on to create Quad Communications in 2002. Both companies were later acquired in 2005 and 2007, respectively. He obtained a B.Sc in Economics and Certificate in Oracle Relational Database Management System from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Lekan is highly active in Yoruba, Nigerian and African communities. He founded African Bridge in 2001 to energize professional African and African American Diasporas to engage in the development of Africa economy. He is the current President of Omo Yoruba of Southern California, and an active member of Nigerian American Business Forum (NABF).
